The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491) is a points-tested provisional visa for people who want to live and work in regional Australia. You must be nominated by a state or territory government or sponsored by an eligible family member living in a designated regional area. After three years on this visa, you can apply for permanent residence through the Subclass 191 visa.
